Product Description

Book Description

Psoriasis is one of the most common skin diseases affecting as many as 1 in 50 adults. In the past, sufferers have had to live with the knowledge that they could suffer an outbreak at any time. However, psoriasis treatments are changing and this updated edition includes information on the new treatments which are currently being developed. Dermatologists now have a clearer understanding of how treatments work and how psoriasis develops. Psoriasis: A Patient's Guide is designed to provide understandable information about psoriasis. This informative, compact and easy-to-read text provides the reader with a complete review of this disorder and the different treatments currently available. Points are illustrated with colour photographs and there are tables and figures giving quick access to information. The book contains ten case studies and concludes with a question and answer section and appendix of useful addresses of psoriasis associations and sources of information worldwide. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

This patient's guide is well written and superbly organized. It explains the various forms of psoriasis and the treatments available. Of particular interest are the pictures which are well reproduced and explain better than words can do what psoriasis is and what treatment can achieve.
