Product Description

Product Description

This work aims to provide a clear, concise and non-technical guide to medical law for doctors who do not often have the time and/or legal background to read expansive books on medical law written for lawyers. The book focuses on aspects of English law that are of particular relevance to medical practice such as civil claims, legal procedure, funding, complaints, whistle-blowing and disciplinary proceedings, coroner's court and criminal law. Readers benefit from short summaries of cases, sources of legal information are identified and explained, and there is also a glossary of legal terms, all of which should prove useful to the busy medical professional with an interest in medical law.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent current overview, 28 Mar 2001
By A Customer
Very punchy and concise summary of current case and statute law for doctors. References to key cases and statutes are good. Only wish the book was a bit longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, clear, concise and simple to read guide!, 4 Mar 2001
By A Customer
Being neither Medically or Legally qualified, but needing to understand these principles for my job - I found this book an excellent guide. It is a short book - very undaunting as you can instantly see it is going to be "short & sweet" unlike alot of other Legal books. The glossary of legal terms was invaluable and the sources of legal references most useful so that one can look up just the cases needed. Overall, a very well written and presented book that almost anyone could pick up & understand.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good generally., 5 Sep 2009
Arrived promptly. Book good but a little basic, though I suppose that's what it's supposed to be.
