Product Description

Synopsis

This is a detailed history of Base Air Depot No 2 of the United States 8th Air Force, which operated at Warton, Lancashire, from 1942 to 1946, during which time the base processed, modified or repaired more than 10,000 aircraft. The many photographs are accompanied by lists outlining the aircraft and personnel and their achievements, and, in a lighter vein, reports of visits by personalities such as Bing Crosby and Glenn Miller.

By A Customer
This book was written by a plane spotter, all he had to do was find the pictures and then go to the B.A.D.2 association for some comments, I think under those circumstances the book is way over priced. A more interesting way of doing things would have been to know what the pilots were thinking, and what the men on the ground were thinking how were they missing there homeland was the fact that they were missing there homeland so much, enough to make work as hard as they did? Did they like the English hosts?
