5.0 out of 5 stars Angling history brought to life, 13 Jan 2000
By A Customer
Geoffrey Bucknall has done an exceptional job in collating past articles from that long gone angling journal `The Fishing Gazette' circa 1870 to 1950. Fine tales of sporting gentlemen and cads, lost or neglected fly patterns, fabulous fishing outings and heated debates on tackle are all meticulously recorded. This book makes fascinating reading for those keen on the social history of game fishing. There is much to be learned from those past masters and Geoffrey Bucknall pulls all the old tales together with his usual consumate skill.
