Product Description

Product Description

Research indicates that at least one in ten mothers experience post-natal depression, yet there is little help available to sufferers. This book aims to help them, and the professionals who work with them, to understand this illness. The book tells the stories of ten women from very different backgrounds - including the author - who have suffered post-natal depression. Their stories should be a source of strength and hope for other sufferers and should also raise awareness of the illness and the destructive effect it can have on individuals and families. The book offers positive suggestions and practical advice, based on personal and professional experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for all the family of PND sufferer, 3 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Excellent from the heart 'tear jerking' information. Needs to be read by all sufferers and their carers/families. A bible for doctors and health visitors giving an insight of invaluable information.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy this book, 2 Aug 2000
If you have any interest in PND for any reason -buy this book. I am one of the contributers so I guess I am biased but I just wish there had been something like this when I was ill. It is honest, straight from the heart and gives real reasurance about the future to sufferers and good information to professionals

5.0 out of 5 stars what an amazing book, 27 April 2003
By A Customer
I got this book as I did not know where to turn for help and understanding and felt totally alone, although I wasn't. It is such a fantastic book and with real experiences from real people. It demystifies post natal depression and acknowledges the feelings that are not always easy to understand. It makes you realise that you are not going mad and you will get better.
