About the Author

Nick Doll read medicine at Newcastle University and took up canoeing there. It is said that the only life he ever saved was that of a drowning canoeist by hooking him out of the River Inn with the handle of his umbrella! He has paddled throughout Britain and Europe, but with a particular emphasis on the area covered by this guide.

The book is a must for a canoeist paddling in the area, it gives detailed information on get ins and get outs, gauging water levels and the river trip itself. It covers the main rivers in the north east, an area of some classic runs such as high force to low force on the river tees
