The Author's use of photographs and illustrations compliment the thorough content of this book. It will be of great interest to everyone interested in the breed. The details for care, feeding, grooming and health are the basis for an essential handbook for all new or potential WSS owners. The history and breeding chapters are such a full coverage of the breed, written with authority and enthusiasm - this book will be a 'must have' for experts and novices alike. The authors passion for the subject is evident and is written in such a relaxed style that the reader feels that they are having a conversation with the author.

a very well presented book with lovely pictures. the tips on health and grooming are very helpful. the only main downside is the lack of puppy and adolescence advice. i have had to consult mainy rescources and other dog owners, as a first time puppy owner sometimes things can be worrying and it would have been very useful to have been able to look it up in this book, especially on the "teenage years"
the tips on training for the working welshie i have found very useful.

I loved this book. Its pages contain not only beautiful full-color photos of Welsh Springer Spaniels, but also helpful information about grooming (pet and show), breeding, whelping, and interesting history from a variety of countries where the breed has become popular.
I would love to see a companion volume in picturebook format containing additional real photos in full color by real Welsh Springer breeders and owners. Examples of photos would include many of the breed in the field retrieving and flushing, gaiting in the Crufts showring, and Welsh Springers at play and rest in their homes with their families.
