I run a guinea pig rescue centre. So many vets (and owners) give up too easily when guinea pigs become ill. This book shows just what can be achieved with a little time and effort....the sense of satisfaction and achievement you get from seeing your animal thrive and thinking "I did that" is very hard to beat. If you have guinea pigs.... you will wonder what you ever did before you had a book by Peter Gurney.

This man really knows his guinea pigs!This book has helped me out on many occasions.It offers all sorts of natural alternatives to help a poorly cavy.It is absolutely a must for serious guinea pig keepers.

This book gives clear advice on treating your sick guinea pigs with herbal medicines, along with advice as to when a trip to the vet/Cambridge Cavy Trust is necessary. You'll be surprised at how many human remedies (eg diocalm) can safely be used on guinea pigs.
