4.0 out of 5 stars A good technical description of all areas of rapid driving, 30 Nov 1998
By A Customer
Paul Frere obviously draws on a huge amount of experience to write about driving powerful cars well and safely. There is an emphasis on technical aspects of driving and car control. He covers why cars handle the way they do, and how things like suspension settings and geometry affect slip and slide. He gives an excellent description of how and why to choose the racing line, and how this applies to road driving as well as track. He covers the differences between rear, front and all wheel drive cars, and how each changes the way a car handles at speed. A book I reread regularly, and gain new insights each time.
