Berkshire Pub Guide - Details of content
Revisit your favourite old pubs or explore some new ones! The sixth edition of the Berkshire Pub Guide is the first CAMRA local guide to the Royal County for TEN years! We have tried to include every pub in Berks (over 700) with a particular emphasis on those who serve real ale (well over 80%). For the first time we include a 'Recommended' category for pubs which rate highly for service, friendliness and, of course, the quality of their beer. The design and layout were produced by a local CAMRA member who is undertaking a degree course in typography at Reading University and she has recently won an award for her work on the guide. The book is illustrated throughout; also included are a county map and clear maps to the main towns (ideal for pub crawls!) as well as a section on local breweries. One final (and we believe) unique feature is an e-mail address where you can pass on your comments about the entries or advise us of any changes; plus you can register for FREE UPDATES to the guide, also by e-mail. If you live in Berkshire or visit the county and enjoy good pubs and well-kept beer, then this is the book for you. We very much hope you enjoy it!

Professionally produced from a volunteer organisation. Liked the honesty of some of the descriptions.

Gives a good opportunity to seek out some traditional gems of the typical english pub.

I have over 20 CAMRA pub guidebooks and this one is definitely the best of all. A pub I go to a lot in Riseley changed hands just before I bought this book but they had manged to collect the new information, so it is very up to date as well. A very good pub guide.

Take the chance to visit some of the out-of-the way pubs in the countryside of Berkshire. There are good reviews of town centre pubs as well, the maps are good and will let you find your way about.

The guide is a bit light on public transport and getting about from pub to pub, this is vital if you don't want to drink and drive.
