Product Description

Book Description

Room at the Inn is a unique guide to quality overnight accommodation in real ale pubs.

Editor Tim Hampson asks, "Where better to stay than in a welcoming pub with the bar filled with people enjoying real ale, as opposed to the bland, stereotyped anonymity of a massive hotel?"

There are pubs suitable for honeymooning or early morning meetings in the City of London. There are coaching inns, B&Bs at the seaside and converted cottages in the country.

· Organised by British Tourist Authority regions.

· Accommodation details and price guide.

· Mini-guides to leisure activities and tourism.

· Full directions and contact details.

· List of beers, food options and times.

Take a break in a pub where a young Queen Victoria stayed. Wake up in a bedroom overlooking the home of Shakespeare’s mum.

Whether on holiday or business, this is the B&B guide for the connoisseur of pubs and beer. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Author

"At their very best, the establishments listed should be like staying in a rich friend’s house – comfortable, friendly with a hint of luxury and often just a hint of eccentricity." --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Fed Up of 'Faceless' Hotels ? Bored with the same menu in every PostHouse/Hilton etc...

Then buy this essential guide.

ALL the Inns mentioned in the guide that I've stayed at have excellent beer, great food, and rooms which offer a home from home feel.

A colleague recommended the book to me and I'm glad he did.

Forget plastic Hotels and Lodges, with 'tasteful' decor and tasteless refreshments. Jill Adam's excellent book is the only one you'll need when travelling the old Green and Pleasant. Its honest assessment of Watering Holes with accomodation has proved essential to a busy traveller like myself. The book is well researched (Hard Work I'm sure!) and clear in its opinions and directions. Well done! Let's get some more entries in there soon.
