1.0 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTING , 2 Aug 2006
Had long awaited the next work from Melissa P having been impressed with her first outing, 100 strokes...
Unfortunetly this, her second offering did not live up to the first. Less graphic and shocking as the first, which isn't surprising after the first, and the nature of this book being more of a life experience tale.
But it is so poorly written. The book wanders of in all directions seemingly at random, trying to be intelligent by connecting subjects that just do not connect, leaving you wondering what interlectual link you are missing.

If you thouroughly enjoyed the first offering and expect something similar here, you won't get what you want. Try something else instead (Insatiable, Valerie Tasso). If you want to see how Melissa P has matured as a writer then go ahead and read this, i just hope you will make more sense of it then i did.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not expect this to be like the first., 25 Aug 2007
By J. Johnston "K. Johnston" (Northern Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I had read about the first book of Melissa P's quite a while ago in a magazine when it was first translated to english but it took a while for me to actually buy it. I really liked the first book, it was unbelievable that such a young person had wrote it and some of the contents quite shocking and Im only 19. After reading it I decided to look and see if she had anymore and I came across this. I was so excited to read it. I cant even remember now how many chapters I read but I couldnt even finish it. It is the worst book I have ever read. She seems to have a sort of author god complex in this book and thinks what ever she writes is just wonderful and explaining her emotions in such thought provocing ways but honestly none of it makes sense, she used far to many big words which Im not even sure if she knows what most of them mean. There are more words than story. Stretching out every sentence with explanations of her feelings, when putting it all together it makes no sense at all.

Unless you just want a sore brain from reading such crap I would tell you not to bother spending your money on this. I often read reviews thinking people are too harsh about some books but there are no redeeming features of this book. Its pure crap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Contrary..., 24 Dec 2007
By Amykins (Co. Durham, England) - See all my reviews
... to the other reviews on here, I actually really enjoyed the book. I loved that it went nowhere and just had a wonderfully verbose and reflective quality to it. I'm disappointed that the other reviewers don't seem to share my opinion, but each to their own I suppose! I actually haven't read 100 strokes.. so I suppose it must pale in comparison to that. Oh well, I liked it, if you like verbose rambling maybe you will too! xx
