Product Description

Kevin Callan is running away, but the past keeps catching up with him. That's the price he has to pay for using the occult to get his sexual kicks. Callan has a thousand different identities, and as they fall apart, the areas of Greenwich and Spitalfields merge to become Greenfields.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cut and Paste, Mind Control and sex aplenty, 4 April 2001
By A Customer
'Come Before Christ and Murder Love' sees Home make a considerable departure from his earlier work, seeing skinheads and mob violence replaced by occultists and mind-control experiments. However, there's still plenty of gratuitous sex scenes, graphically and hilariously portrayed in Home's usual brash, irreverent style.

The plot... as with most of Home's output, the plot is secondary, while characterisation really isn't a factor, and this is the whole point: this book is a great example of Home's postmodern, ironic approach to literature, and sees him take the cut and paste techniques initiated in 'Slow Death' and 'Red London' to a new level.

Although a little confusing at times, 'Come Before Christ' is a very accessible, and extremely entertaining book, and although it is perhaps not the best introduction to his work, is definitely well worth reading.
