I bought this book when I was in the process of finishing a Masters degree focussing on biometric technologies that are both emerging and established.
This was perhaps the least technical book relating to biometrics that I own, and this is why I think it would be an ace first buy for managers (for example) that need to get an understanding of what can initially be a seemingly daunting subject area.
There are areas of the book that were dated by the time the book actually came to press, but this is the case with most technical books.
The entire book is the most perfect introduction to biometrics and is a bookshelf must have for those people that need an introduction to the technology or those people that dont need an introduction but would like to have something to give to people who know less about biometrics than they do. There is also a free CD with the book, which is the cherry on the cake!!! - Brilliant, not to be feared by the technophobe and suitable for anybody that requires a one stop, sound basal information fix, on a technology that is reputed to be almost too expensive to even discuss in a corporate environment.
