5.0 out of 5 stars An invaluable source for identifying lunar detail, 17 Aug 2001
By A Customer
Clear and concise. This book contains high quality lunar photographs taken through a 12" Newtonian reflector. The Lunar surface is split into 16 sections, each of which has a sketch detailing crater names. At the rear of the book it gives details of each crater including diameters and co-ordinates. It also contains information about the film type used to capture the images. Each photograph appears as it would through a reflecting telescope i.e. upside down and back to front, so for the amateur astronomer, this is invaluable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect, 16 Feb 2005
By Mr. M. J. Bowyer (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
A wonderful guide to finding your way around the lunar landscape as seen through a back-garden telescope. If you are interested in observing the Moon this really is a must have. Each section has a clear map of the region followed by several full page photos of the same area under different conditions of illumination. It is also hard wearing enough to be taken outside on a damp night and actually used at the telescope.
