About the Author
Translator George Szirtes is a leading Hungarian English poet. Born in Budpest in 1948. He came to Britain in 1956. His other translations from hungarian include several novals and plays as well as editions of poets Otto Orban and Zsuzsa Rakovszky. He co-edited Bloodaxe's Hungarian anthology The Colonnade of teeth. His own poetry books include The Budapest File (2000) and an English Apocalypes (2001) from Bloodaxe and his forth comming new collection Reel (2004). He lives in Norfolk and teaches at Norwich school of art and design.
