As usual, Zephaniah is brilliant. The best thing about City Psalms, and Zephaniah in general, is that there is an ease about his writing. There is no pretention or over-thinking, no indication that a flurry of imagery or convoluted techniques have been used to deliberately impress the reader. It just reads as if spoken, in a dialect without any fussy structure. It's so accessible and enjoyable. It's poetry for everyone.
