There is a lot of information in this book. Twinch covers breed selection, housing and equipment, husbandry systems, management, feeding, breeding, health and the fancy in this slim volume. There are useful photos, diagrams and tables throughout the book, although I would personally have liked more. When I was a complete beginner I found it useful to have a number of texts with plenty of illustrations to hand. Now I have been keeping hens for a few years Twinch is the book I am most likely to refer to if in doubt about anything as the information is sound and to the point.

This book is very informative for beginners in poultry.
I would recommend it, although it did`nt go into great detail about incubation as the author Carol Twinch has a seperate book on this subject.
