Product Description
Synopsis
Reissued to mark the 75th anniversary of the first publication of THE PROPHET, this is a gift edition of Gibran's work. THE PROPHET speaks of love and marriage, joy and sorrow, reason and passion, beauty and death. Inspired largely by nature, it conveys the yearning for a Unity of Being that can only be achieved through love.

About the Author
Kahlil Gibran's early years were spent in the breathtakingly beautiful countryside of his native Lebanon, so different from the polluting forces of the Boston ghettos to which he emigrated with his family in 1895, at the age of twelve. Following a period of study in Paris, Gibran moved to New York, and it was here that he was to compose his most famous book, the universally acclaimed The Prophet. He died in New York in 1931, at the age of forty-eight. His admirers are estimated to number five million in the US alone.
