Product Description

Product Description

The "new materialism" argues that science and religious belief are incompatible. This book considers such arguments from cosmology, biology, and sociobiology view points, and shows that modern scientific knowledge does not undermine belief in God, but points to the existence of God.

3.0 out of 5 stars A modern, scientific Christian apologetic, 11 Jun 2000
By A Customer
Prof. Ward delivers a profound and detailed argument for the existence of God, from a modern scientific standpoint. He specifically addresses the points raised by modern atheists such as Richard Dawkins. The book is essentially a tour de force in contemporary Christian apologetics. It is heavy going, but offers a valuable riposte the atheistic objections. Readers wishing to sample Ward's belief system would be better advised to read "God, Faith and the New Millennium", which I found more enjoyable.

This is a magnificent book which shows how belief in God is completely compatible with the very latest scientific evidence. Beautifully written, it is a masterpiece which warrants several readings. Simply unbeatable!
