A lot of descriptive stuff to plough through - much more than the abridged versions obviously - but it's just so worth it. You have to appreciate the awesome imagination Tolkien had, and this book lets you see in more depth just how much he knew about his fantasy. Really, I wish I had the words necessary to put across just how extraordinary Tolkien's mind must have been. But unlike him, I don't.
