This book translates the important messages of the bible into modern day terms and assosciates them with today's society, and our own personal lives. A brilliant help for anyone who has recently become a Christian and wants to know how to live, but also essential for those who claim to be Christians but need to take another look at the way they are living! Challenging us in every aspect of our lives, this book tells it how it is and does not overlook the more uncomfortable aspects of being a Christian...

I found "Distinctives" to be a useful book with regards to demonstrating how Christians should differentiate themselves from non-believers in today's world in terms of how to live,think, act and speak. The author explores a wide range of topics and provides good advice as to how Christians should deal with issues like materialism,individualism ,sex and relativism and how they should find contentment in a world whose values are increasingly against those of Christianity,without compromising their principles. "Distinctives" may be easy to read but it is also thought provoking and the author makes makes it quite clear that an authentic Christian lifestyle is a difficult one to pursue in the 21st Century.

This book, aimed primarily at Christians, is extremely concise and easy to read. As its title suggests, it focuses on helping the reader to lead a "Distinctive" Christian life in the context of the 21st Century. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for practical help in living out their faith day by day.
