Stroll beside the Montgomery Canal on a walk to Powis Castle or explore the countryside around the historic small towns of Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Llanidloes, Tregaron, Lampeter and Rhayader.
Climb low hills on a circuit of the scenic Caban Coch reservoir in the Elan Valley and watch for the rare red kite. Follow a cliff path from the enchanting village of Llangranog to the spectacular promontory of Ynys Lochtyn and enjoy other coastal walks. Take walks from Aberystwyth, climb to Bearded Lake from pretty Aberdyfi, or walk through wooded Cwm Rheidol from Devil's Bridge.
