Book Description
The rolling chalk hills of the South Downs National Park are one of the best places to go walking in Southern England - and this is the only book of one-day circular walks currently available for the area. The guide's 31 detailed walk plans come complete with sketch maps and provide a thorough exploration of the Downs between Beacon Hill in Hampshire and Beachy Head. 28 of the walks are full-day walks, while three shorter routes explore out-of-the way corners. All routes have been designed to take in both countryside and places of interest nearby - so there's plenty of opportunity to visit the area's unspoilt villages and ancient churches. (A stop at the local pub is also highly recommended!) A detailed commentary gives full background information on the area - as well as those essential practical bits: opening times, parking etc.
