About the Author
Morris Garratt has lived in Cheadle Hulme since 1968 and spent his working life in the public library service. He was a founder member of the Wilmslow Historical Society and has been Hon. Secretary of both the Stockport Historical Society and the Lancashire & Cheshire Antiquarian Society. He is a member of the editorial board of the Manchester Region History Review and is the author of several articles and books concerned with local history.
