The directions in this book are absolutely hopeless. I have undertaken three of the walks in this book and been lost three times.
I have walked through fields of animals, down bramble overgrown tracks which are clearly rarely used and invariably ended up somewhere being told off for trespassing. I have been through a farmyard in Higher Poynton looking for a path which the farmer had to help us find. I ended up climbing over a barbed wire fence in Wilmslow on to a retirement homes estate on Sunday. I think our highlight was being lost in a wood and ending up on Mottram Hall golf course and catching a taxi from the gates.
I wouldn't recommend this particular guide of walks to anyone. Its saving grace is that it has introduced me to new areas of my local countryside which I can now enjoy.
