This book isn't a quick reference on the subject and as such requires reading in full. However if you have the time its well worth while. It covers all the major topics well. With new languages and development environments its now starting to show its age in some areas however the basics are sound. Rather than debate a point of software quality and testing methods with someone I give them the book and tell them to work it out themselves. For that alone its useful to have on the shelf.
