Alan MacDonald was born in Watford. He dreamed of becoming a professional footballer, but then he won a pen in a writing competition and his fate was sealed. Alan's since written over fifty children's books, and he also writes for TV, including the award-winning Tweenies. David Roberts worked as a fashion illustrator in Hong Kong before becoming a children's books illustrator. He has worked with a huge variety of authors, including Philip Ardagh and Georgia Byng
