About the Author

William Bill Boddy was with Brooklands Track & Air magazine for two and half years from 1931 and the Editor of MotorSport magazine from 1934 for some 50 years. Bill has also written for aviation magazines and was employed by MAP at Farnborough for duration of WW2, on Air Publications. Bill is still a regular contributor to MotorSport and has written five books about motor racing. Now a widower, Bill has three daughters.

This is a companion to WB's history of Brooklands, although perhaps not quite so exhaustively detailed. I was disappointed to find that the reprinted edition contains a large number of typographical errors and omissions which I found irritating and confusing and which undermine its usefulness as a work of reference. The best feature is the good number of b&w illustrations. Not recommended

Having recently attended a classic meeting at Montlhery I was intrigued to know more about the history and can say that I found this book very informative and good reading
