Product Description
Synopsis
Launched in 1937, "The Dandy" is still one of the most popular children's comics and annuals with a readership covering all generations. "The Dandy" annual sells over 400,000 copies each year. This is a slip-cased facsimile of the first ever "Dandy" annual published in 1941 after the comic had launched in 1937. It will appeal to all of the generations who have read the "Dandy" and will provide a great insight to the early days of the comic, as well as fulfilling the promise of all annuals, to make you laugh. "The Dandy" has given rise to characters such as Desperate Dan, Korky the Kat and Keyhole Kate and there is still huge nostalgic interest in them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real gem, 30 Dec 2006
By Craig (Scotland) - See all my reviews
I bought this along with the facsimile Broons book and have enjoyed both. They are a faithful reproduction with no editing (although there must have been pressure from the PC brigade). I was brought up on the Dandy (and Beeno) and whilst I am too young to remember the first edition most of the characters had survived into the sixties and it was fun to see them again.
