Product Description

Review
Praise for Bachelor and the Bean: "Young children will enjoy the shimmering colors and swirling patterns, reminiscent of Jane Ray's artwork, that show the town bustle and the humor as sparks fly between the crabby, adoring couple."

Product Description
Visitors to the mosque at Cordoba are plagued by the tricks of three naughty boys: Rashid, who is Muslim, Samuel who is Jewish and Miguel, a Christian. One day they go a step too far, and as a punishment they are forced to work in the mosque gardens where they learn about the building's beauty.

I read this book to my 7 year old recently. It was in a waiting room of a local hospital. We both loved the rich and vibrant pictures but also the lovely story about three friends from different backgrounds, who work together and keep such a beatuiful mosque for everone to enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Magnificent Mosque , 1 April 2009
An excellent book for ages 4-8 years. Tells of 3 friends living and playing in the paradisical setting of the grand Mosque of Cordoba: Rashid- a Muslim, Miguel- a Christian and Samuel- a Jew grow up and watch the changes that take place. When Muslim ruled spain is defeated by King ferdinand the three friends re-unite once again to stop him demolishing the Magnficent Mosque and re-building in its place a Cathedral.

Covers History, Multi-culturalism and Harmony, geography and touches nicely on PSHE topics. Just Brilliant.
