First in a series of four audio plays, each about fifty minutes long, that form one long story. They involve doctor who's evil foes the cybermen.

The first part sets the scene for the story. Humanity is at war with a race of androids, who humans created only for them to seek independence. The war is a stalemate, and a successful human military leader becomes leader of the entire earth. Her aim is to bring the war to an end. But then she gets an offer that might help her do just that. the problem is there might be strings attached..

Very much a scene setting opening episode for the story, but stick with it because this is just part one of an increasingly involving tale. And it presents the listener with a moral dilemma, in that it makes you think what you might do in the place of the main character if this happened to you. And that's good writing. A good start to the series
