Product Description

Product Description

What is politics? How does Parliament work? Is the great British democracy even a true democracy? And why are politicians such massive liars? Humorous and entirely biased, this book provides the information that teenagers really want - and need - to know. Complete with equally irreverent footnotes and a 'Get Involved' section with a list of websites and further reading, this fresh and entirely readable book is essential for a generation disillusioned by modern politics. Michael Moore, beware!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a no-nonsense readable guide to politics, 26 April 2007
By H. Willis (Wellington College, Berks UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a truly interesting and informative read, and leaves any young apathetic reader truly knowledgeable about the modern political environment in the UK... and the behind-the-scenes dodgy dealings as well.

Bali speaks his mind about issues such as immigration, the Iraq War, political parties and the electoral system, the integrity of the UK media and more, with such tasteful cynicism that Paul Merton himself would be proud. The book also leaves the reader with many other routes of enquiry in order to pursue any areas further, should a particular aspect be of interest.

Thoroughly recommended for all those stereotypical teenagers like myself - this will undoubtedly change your mind about modern politics.

This is a fantastic book and really enjoyable to read. I am 16 going on this year to study politics at A level and this book has already taught me so much in a very simple format. I honestly recommend this book to all who want to learn about how politics and how it works.
