Idris (Taff) James was a driver in the Royal Army Service Corps and one of the thousands of soldiers taken prisoner by the Japanese in 1942. He suffered from dysentery, malaria, beri beri and cholera, but he survived. His description of the courage of his fellow captives and the failings of some in authority give grounds for serious thought.

(REAL NAME)   
The experience of that time for Idris was so devastating, his doctor advised him to write about it, to get it out of his system! It took him and his daughter 60 years to get it into print. This was due to his 'no holds barred' descriptions of the events he lived through. Today criticism of those in authority is accepted practice.
