2.0 out of 5 stars soft and sickly sweet, 30 Jun 2005
I live in Cambridge and have enjoyed Brooke's poems especially the Grantchester poem. I wanted to get to know the man better. I have found this account of Brooke's life to be overly sentimental and sycophantic. There are unecessarily intimate descriptions of what RB experienced which are clearly nothing other than fantasy.
I don't regret reading this book but I wouldn't recommend it highly.
