Review

"'An exquisite evocation of a young woman's spiritual awakening- A poetic gift of the creative Imagination as translucent and refreshing as water from a mountain stream.' Anne Baring, co-author, 'The Myth of the Goddess'; 'A beautiful little book that speaks to the soul. The world of Rumi and Shams is seen through the eyes of a girl, full of simple wonder, wisdom and the mysterious turning of the heart. This story resonates with the sacred child and mystic In each of us.' Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, author of 'Sufism, The Transformation of the Heart'" --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rumi's daughter, 17 April 2006
By P. Pathak (London United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Rumi's Daughter (Paperback)
In itself this book is o.k but in my opinion not a masterpiece. The front cover gives it away when it says "in the bestselling tradition of the alchemist". This book is not the alchemist but uses the well known name to sell its self. It was written is the alchemist style but that was it. The book was always aiming at conveying divine love and wisdom but it I feel it fell short of doing that and so, what was left behind was an o.k enough story and a quick read for a rainy day. Not impressed, sorry.

4.0 out of 5 stars shades of rumi, 15 Mar 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: Rumi's Daughter (Paperback)
This sweet little gem of a book shares the same love and mystic aspect that rumi's poems themself hold. It isn't a book about rumi, its about..... well just read it. It is soo easy to read and takes you deeper and deeper into Kimya's story and really makes you get into the book and see things through her eyes. This is one of the best short reads that i have ever had and would strongly advise everyone to give it a go.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem, 14 Jan 2009
By lorelei (Ireland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rumi's Daughter (Paperback)
The reader who gave this book only 1 star does obviously not understand the hidden messages, heart opening revelations and deep truths the author so bravely writes about. But a precious gem is not visible for everyone...
It is not a quick fix story book but a teaching book easy to read and to see and feel between the lines.
I have given it to all my friends of the heart.
