Daisy is an inspired creation!

(The Independent )

Product Description

A magical retelling of the Nativity story. One cold winter's night, in his stable, Kind Ox welcomes animals looking for warmth and shelter with the call, 'Come inside. There's always room for a little one here.' Then Tired Donkey arrives, led by Joseph and carrying Mary on his back. Kind Ox calls to Tired Donkey, 'Come inside. There's always room for a little one here'. And later that night, in the light of the stable, the animals welcome Jesus to the world. Martin Waddell's beautiful retelling of the Nativity story is exquisitely illustrated by Jason Cockcroft.

5.0 out of 5 stars Room for a little one, 14 Dec 2004
By A Customer
Primarily I bought this book for myself as I am a great lover of Martin Waddell's books. When I read this story to the nursery group of 3 and 4 year olds they sat enthralled. The story lends itself as a quiet calming read about Kind Ox who welcomes several animals into the stable. The group accept each other on this common peaceful ground. The dog, cat and mouse show no hatred towards each other as they nestle in the warmth of the stable. Finally Tired donkey arrives to share the stable. The animals are there to welcome Jesus as he is born. Wonderful, with superb illustrations. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
