This volume contains short stories involving timetravel, vampires, werewolves,dragons and aliens, their common theme the search for a perfect soul mate whilst remaining undetected in human society. With only 240 pages and containing 6 authors, I was definitely expecting all these stories to be brief yet sweet, however the sex scenes completely overwhelm all of these tales and we are not given the time or opportunity to truly understand and sympathise with our fictional lovers.

I was drawn to this book because of its editor JAID BLACK, a phenomenal writer of erotic scifi and a personal favourite of mine. I was left feeling that if I was already familiar with other works by the authors contained in this anthology (I must admit I have never read anything by any of them) I would probably have felt less disappointed. These authors each have full length novels available through Ellora's Cave and I imagine that their longer tales contain depths that these shorter stories fail to reach. If on the other hand you prefer sizzling red hot sex (and there's plenty of it in this book!) over well constructed characters and a thoughtfully developed plot then you will be left well satisfied. I am a huge fan of hot romance, but in this case it was way too much.
