5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Companion, 20 Jul 2005
This is an invaluable and most importantly accurate resource when visiting NZ. I agonised over which "Guide" to take as there are so many good ones out there. My choice was vindicated. The descriptions of the places to visit are uncomplicated and human, avoiding jargon and lazy cliches. The list of eateries and pubs was particularly good and almost without exception never failed to please.

I take on board what the other reviewer said about the size of the manual but the author is put in an extremely diffkcult position when balancing a full authorititative guide against space and portability. I think they have got it about right as it is packed full of all the essential including lots of maps as well as a good background info on everywhere you visit.

Good value and thoroughly recommended...

5.0 out of 5 stars Spot on!, 13 Mar 2005
By A Customer
Referred to this frequently during a recent trip to New Zealand and found it absolutely spot on in it's descriptions of places and attractions. Invaluable when in a new town, hungry and faced with a bewildering choice of places to eat.

The only complaint is how heavy it is when lugged around in your hand luggage for several weeks!
