Product Description

Product Description

Toronto's city limits are vast, but fortunately for the visitor most of the city's key sights, better restaurants and livlier nightspots are concentrated in the city centre. The Rough Guide map will point you in the right direction with its comprehensive street index and handy listings of the best places to eat, drink and stay. Toronto has a harsh climate, in winter so a map that's completely wind- and snow-proof is a good idea too. The useful 'Time Map' will save a wasted trudge to a closed museum or gallery by charting the times and days of opening of all the city's attractions. The map's detailed transport information and clear layout will help you make the best use of the city's integrated public transport system of subways, buses and streetcars which serve virtually every corner of the city.

WHEN TO VISIT Toronto has a harsh climate. In the winter, it’s often bitterly cold with sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfalls. January and February are usually the coldest months, but real winter conditions can begin in early November and drag on into late March. Summers, on the other hand, are hot and humid. July and August are consistently the hottest months, sometimes uncomfortably so. Spring and autumn offer the city’s most enjoyable weather, with lots of warm, sunny days and balmy nights. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
