Product Description

Book Description

'The World's Stupidest Headlines' is a hilarious collection of the most ludicrous headlines ever to appear in newsprint, featuring such classics as: 'Drunk Gets Nine Months in Violin Case', 'Red Tape Holds Up New Bridge', 'Man is Found Dead in Graveyard' and 'Squad Helps Dog Bite Victim'.

At first glance these headlines might seem perfectly reasonable, but on closer inspection the obvious stupidity of their alternative meanings becomes apparent, often with wonderfully ridiculous results.

From the tautological 'Man is Fatally Murdered', to the unfortunate 'Deaf Mute Gets New Hearing In Killing', and the plain nonsensical 'Hospitals Are Sued By 7 Foot Doctors', ''The World's Stupidest Headlines' is full of riotously funny headlines taken from newspapers across the globe.

3.0 out of 5 stars just pages of headlines, 17 May 2005
By A Customer
There is actually no point to this book at all - it is just page after page of headlines .
Some of them are incredibly funny and some of them are so stupid that you wonder how they were ever printed , but they were and that's why they have ended up in this book.
This book serves to show us just how stupid some humans actually are - perhaps it was intended as a guide book for aliens from outer space??
Funny but not very big and not very clever!

Great fun. I gave it to my 90yr old Aunt who hadn't laughed so much in years.
