4.0 out of 5 stars Writing models Year 5, 23 Feb 2006
By A Customer
A brilliant teacher resource in terms of original and imaginative texts. I have used the texts with a year 6 class and they found them interesting, amusing and could identify with them. There are a few ideas on how to develop the lesson after reading the text at the back of the book but it easy enough to develop your own ideas along the lines of the text. Texts are also annotated for teacher use. If you are looking for something different in terms of text types then go for this book. If you are looking for a whole literacy hour lesson then it is not for you. I have used this and the Year 6 book more than any other in the run up to SATs!Certainly keeps the children interested and sparks off ideas!

5.0 out of 5 stars time saver, 28 Jul 2007
This book has made my life easier this year. It has all the texts you need and at two levels. I've used them in a lower year 5 set for shared and guided reading and both myself and the kids have enjoyed reading them. I'm off now to buy the Year 6 version as I'm moving year group.
