Product Description

Synopsis
Shows why it is not unreasonable to believe that Jesus was the Son of God. The author thought Christian claims about Jesus were crazy, and he didn't mind telling people so. But, then he discovered the truth for himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book!, 11 April 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: More Than a Carpenter (Paperback)
This is an excellent book for anybody who is interested in finding out what evidence there is to support the claims made about Jesus without wanting to take a degree in theology. It is often difficult to present a clear logical argument to a non-specialist reader without either over-simplifying or providing a surfeit of detail. In this book, Josh McDowell gets it just right.

Specific questions such as 'Are the manuscripts reliable?', and 'What about science?' are dealt with on a chapter by chapter basis, as well as issues such as claims of divinity and the resurrection. The logical down to earth approach is very refreshing and there are plenty of references given for those to want to look into the material further. The book is also very easy to read - apart from clearly knowing his subject, Josh McDowell is a very good communicator. I would thoroughly recommend this to believers and non-believers alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and easy to read case for the claims of Jesus Christ, 10 April 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: More Than a Carpenter (Paperback)
Great gift for friends who are curious about Christianity, but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Includes the classic argument of C. S. Lewis (Lord, Liar or Lunatic), Josh McDowell also discusses the scientific validity of scripture. A good overview of Christian Apologetics.
