I have been looking for a history of the British Parliament for years; this book has been well worth the wait. John Field writes in an easy style with a very dry sense of humour. He writes for the regular reader, as opposed to writing for PhD students, as so many authors do.

For anyone wishing to read the history, and the wonder, of Parliament, this book is not to be missed.
