5.0 out of 5 stars A starter ghost story with a very sweet ghost!, 28 Oct 2007

(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
The little princess, like so many children, decides she doesn't like the dark because there are ghosts in the dark, probably under the bed. All the grown-ups say there's no such thing as ghosts. The Little Princess however isn't convinced and wonders if little ghosts would be afraid of the dark too. And she's absolutely right. The sweetest little ghost clutching its little skeleton teddy is just as scared of the Little Princess as she is of the little ghost. There's a nice twist at the end when the little ghost insists he must have his light on, even though mummy ghost says there's no such thing as a little girl.
This is a strong title in this popular Little Princess range, with cheerful bright illustrations and just a sentence of text per page. It is good to see the princess is not obviously spoilt in this story as she is in some of the others.
I am particularly amused by the illustrations of the princess and her teddy taking large steps to avoid treading on any ghosts because they are 'probably very small'.
Also, if you did have a child with a fear of ghosts, this book would be a handy read - not even the most sensitive child could be scared of the little ghost in this story.
