Lily is helping her mother get ready for Christmas - she makes cards, and puts up Christmas streamers, not to mention decorating the tree, and wrapping up parcels. And in everything she does, she does one special one: 'Just for you, Blue Kangaroo'. And Blue Kangaroo is very touched - he feels very loved, and wants to do something for Lily. One evening, he sitting nibbling his paws, when Father Christmas comes down the chimney, so he asks him what he can do. The next day there is a little blue heart hanging on the tree, and Lily cannot imagine whom it might be for!


About the Author

Emma Chichester Clark was born in London. She studied at Chelsea School of Art and then the Royal College where she was taught by Quentin Blake. She won the Mother Goose Award in 1988.

This is a lovely addition to the Blue Kangaroo series. It's about Blue Kangaroo wanting to do something special for Lily because she does so many lovely things for him, and, with Santa's help, he makes a special Christmas surprise for her. The illustrations are even more lovely than in the other books as they have lots of traditional Christmassy scenes - Lily making paper chains, decorating the tree, etc. And the part of the story with Santa is very sweet without being overly sentimental. A very nice book and recommended for all Blue Kangaroo fans .
