Many of earth's life forms are the focus of study by Jeanne Willis' Dr. Xargle, an extraterrestrial professor from an unknown planet. This time the topic of interest is the common house cat, it's features, habits, and (in the doctor's eyes) the bizarre placating rituals humans perform entirely for it's pleasure. Readers will enjoy many giggles as the doctor tries to explain common kitty quirks; idiosyncrasies that humans have long since given up trying to understand. It's easy to identify with the human characters in this book if you share a home with a cat yourself. Cat lovers will adore Dr. Xargle's take on pet ownership!

Dr. Xargle's Books are great fun for children of all ages. The way Jeanne Willis describes what everyday earth objects seem like to aliens is incredible.

Quite honestly the funniest children's book I have read in a long time. An absolute gem. Never mind buying for a child, all adults should own it:)
