Product Description

Book Description

This revealing biography tells the band's complete story for the first time, tracing the roots of the group back to the Australian pub circuit. The tale continues when Scott and the Young brothers joined forces and AC/DC proper was formed. The strange circumstances surrounding the death of Bon Scott in 1980 are investigated and revelations never before aired are uncovered. The story is brought completely up to date by describing the recording of AC/DC's first new album in 5 years, their 17th in all. The most conclusive and up to date book on one of the most popular rock bands in the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!, 17 May 2006
I came to DC late in life but i know enough to recognise a detailed and truthful biog. This is one, and in fact its the only one i have read. Others are shallow, meaningless and just author ego trips. Here Paul Stenning delves so deep it makes you want to weep with joy - accounts from those who were really there with bon angus or malcolm. I am simply overwhelmed that such an UNAUTHORISED book can be so darn good, it really needs as many readers as DC has fans...

5.0 out of 5 stars cant believe it!, 8 Feb 2006
Hey, I just read the most recent idiot's review of this book claiming mistakes. I run an ac/dc site and I know the band inside and out. I actually wrote to the author with TWO mistakes in the book, and he gracefully acknowledge due to time contraints a few discrepancies inevitably appeared. I give him huge kudos for writing back and admitting where he did get it slightly wrong.

But make no mistake, this is an EXCELLENT, thoroughly researched, revelatory and fascinating book, totally worthy of the AC/DC name. I cannot quite believe there are idiots in the world who think they know more than they do and criticise such a good music writer, but then hey thats why they are "critiquing" on amazon and not elsewhere i guess. BUY THE BOOK its superb!

5.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable and funny read about the greatest Rock band!!!, 7 Nov 2005
This book is ace!! It gives a detailed account of their career, covering the death of Bon Scott in great depth, offering opinions, and uncovering further revelations surrounding his mysterious death!! This sets it apart from other books about the band. It had some great photos in the middle - including rare memorabilia! It is a well-recommended read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting facts, poorly written
This book is for the AC/DC fan only. There is no thoughtful criticism of any part of their career, or any of their musical output, throughout the book. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Appalling Book
This book starts out well with some quotes from some old school friends of Angus and Malcolm. Unfortunately, it's all downhill from chapter 2 onwards. Read more
