Having read much about the Royal Saudi Family, books on Iran, the Lebanon (Sold being one) and also read relentlessly everything published by Jean Sassoon, I was really looking forward to a story with a happy ending, perhaps based on a western happy ending. Alas, the book portrayed Jarmina as a very spoilt bratt and her admirer as someone who never really cared for her ever, which made it very sad, and almost degrading for this Saudi Princess. The Villain was asked never to publicly portray the Royal Family as lazy shopaholic, chocoholics who throw money all around Claridges. This is exactly how you identified with the characters, and as the book was ghost written, exactly how you would identify with the royal family. The storyline began well, at first it was promising for a moment I thought the Jarmina vs Villain romance would end with perhaps a union of middle east meets west, alas, the ending was very unrealistic and Jarmina shipped back to Saudi Arabia to eat chocolates, whilst the villain hatched his next scam. It was very disappointing.
