5.0 out of 5 stars best read in a long time, 2 Jun 2004
Wow! What a fun, provokative, fabulously written book that i just couldn't put down - I just finished it tonight and i'm really quite sad at the thought of losing Gemma (hysterical!) and Johnny, Owen, Mam and Dad, Lilly, Anton and Jo-Jo - what a cast! I'm inspired to buy this book and send it to a few of my girly-friends around the world - the word must be spread! I would give more than 5 stars if i could - especially now i know how the Amazon star rating system is benchmarked by those authors and publishers.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Slow at first but really gets you gripped!, 26 May 2004
I have to say I almost peed with excitment when I saw "the other side of the story" in a bookshop in Dublin Airport...I grabbed it, petrified that hundreds of women would run out of nowhere and take all the copies! I clutched it to my chest like a winning lottery ticket and headed home to have a long bath and READ! at first I was disappointed, it took a while to get into, but as soon as you hit Jojo it's superb...MK is a genius! I have about 30 pages left and I am pacing myself. I really want to read Mimi's Remedies though!

Well done, see you again next year!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hillarious, 13 Dec 2005

Marian Keyes is one of the authors that has been suggested to me several times but it wasn't until recently that I finally got around to reading one of her books, and 'The Other Side of the Story' was the perfect place to start!

This book was amazing! The three characters were all likeable (although I will say, surprisingly, Gemma was my favourite) and it was great to see the way they were connected. For someone who hopes to one day be a published author themselves, it was a brilliant insight into the difficulties that lie ahead.

Entertaining, funny and wonderfully written, I'd reccomend this book to anyone. Such a great read!
